On the Verge of a Harvest
If I were to ask you, “What is the fastest growing religion in the world?” what would your answer be? You might say it is Islam but the correct answer is Christianity! People around the word are coming to Christ in record numbers. Muslim clerics are openly bemoaning the fact that six million Muslins each year are becoming Christians in Africa alone. And hundreds of thousands are coming to Christ throughout the Middle East. The message of Christ is making inroads in places that here to for have been considered “closed” to the gospel. Many are saying that we’re on the verge of a harvest of souls unlike anything we’ve ever seen.
God is on the move. The activity of the Holy Spirit is increasing.
God spoke to me in 2006 that He was going to send His transforming Presence in revival to our region. I am looking for it and expecting it. In 2007 God brought several pastors together to pray for revival once a week and the Trumbull County Prayer Movement was born. I soon became aware that we are part of a movement of prayer that is global in nature. So, whatever God is about to do, it is going to affect the whole world. WOW!
Many believe that God is going to bring a mighty revival that will sweep multitudes into the kingdom before the return of Christ.
Another aspect of the global prayer movement involves unity. God is bringing His body together in a big way. The isolation and division that has crippled the American Church for the last one hundred years is being dismantled and the architect of the dismantling is the Holy Spirit of God. He is dealing with our arrogance and our denominational and theological pride. He is teaching us that, “if in Christ we agree let us seek unity.” In the past this kind of unity was the result of revival. It seems the Holy Spirit is bringing the body together as part of His plan to bring revival.
The relationships I have formed with pastors in our area has enriched my life so much. I can honestly say that I know Christ better because of it. God is bringing us back to His word...back to His heart.
The reality that spiritual deception is increasing at an alarming rate is obvious. The kingdom of darkness is very active. We know this will lead to the revealing of the man of sin. But the increase of God’s activity in reviving His church and bringing multitudes to Himself is also obvious. We ought to remember, that a multitude that no man can number will be saved during the tribulation period (Revelation 7:9-14). And there is good reason to believe that we are on the verge of a great harvest of souls right now!
Therefore, be encouraged. Don’t bury your heads in the sand. Don’t shrink back in fear. Rather move forward as never before. The gospel of Christ is still the power of God to save all who believe! Therefore, let us proclaim that powerful good news of Christ. The harvest will surely follow!
