Who Has the Answers to Life’s Greatest Questions?

Who is THE EXPERT you call to find the answers to life’s questions?

At our church we believe Jesus is the expert on life. We believe it so much that we’ve devoted our lives to knowing and following Him. We believe Jesus has the answers to life’s greatest questions . . .

. . . Because of who He is

Jesus said that He was the Son of God who had come from heaven to earth. “You are from beneath, I am from above; you are of this world, I am not of this world” (John 8:23). He claimed to be the One God had promised to send into the world to give us life. He claimed to be the Savior of the world. “Unless you believe that I am who I claim to be you will die in your sins” (John 8:24). Jesus’ identity gives him the credentials no one else has. He is the expert on life and he alone has the answers we seek.

. . . Because of what He taught

Jesus taught remarkable, life changing truths. His wisdom about human relationships has never been improved on. “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” And, “Love your neighbor as yourself.”  He taught us to forgive rather than seek revenge. He taught us to be great by serving others. He taught us that when we humble ourselves God will lift us up. No one has ever taught anything that compares to the things Jesus taught. Jesus’ teaching about life sets Him apart from all others.

Jesus also taught us the truth about ourselves and the condition of our hearts. “Out of the heart of men proceed evil thoughts” (Mark 7:21).  He taught that we all are sinners and selfish by nature. And if we will be honest we will acknowledge that everything Jesus said about us is true. That’s why we need a Savior and that’s why Jesus came—to be that Savior! Many philosophies in the world teach us that we are basically good and can save ourselves.  But Jesus told us the ugly truth about who we are so that we could see the beauty of God’s grace and mercy.

“I came so that everyone would have life.” John 10:10

You may legitimately ask, “How do you know that Jesus was who He claimed to be?” We know Jesus is who He claimed to be . . .

. . . Because of what He did

Jesus said, “Kill me and in three days I will rise again.” And then—He did!
The resurrection of Jesus is “full proof” that all that he said was true. He “was shown to be the Son of God when he was raised from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit. He is Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 1:4 NLT).

Prophecies throughout the Old Testament spoke of the suffering and death of the Messiah pictured in the animal sacrifices brought by worshippers to the temple. Then Jesus came to offer himself as the ultimate sacrifice for sins. God’s justice has been satisfied. Mercy is now available to sinners. His resurrection proves it!

Because of who he is; because of what he taught and because of what he did, Jesus is the expert we can call on and find the answers to life’s questions.

We can trust Him when He said, “I am the way, the truth and the life” John 14:6.
