LIFT US UP O LORD!
As I pray this morning I am thanking God for the flow of the Holy Spirit. We read in Psalm 46, “There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God". And in Ezekiel 47:1-5 we read, "And there was water flowing from under the threshold of the temple...the water came up to my ankles...then up to my knees...then up to my waist...and it was a river that I could not cross."
May the movement of the Holy Spirit among us become a river that takes us up and carries us to where He wants us to be. Our destination will be unknown except to know that it will be where God is! The river will allow us to find God! The river will allow us to answer the question of Psalm 24: "Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord?" It is the Holy Spirit who will get me there - get us there.
God’s wonderful promise in Jeremiah 29:13, "You shall seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart" can only be true by the work of God's Spirit in us...carrying willing and seeking hearts to the Father, to home, to His throne, to glory, to pure love and grace.
River of God rise higher and higher...rise...so that the power of its current becomes far greater than our resistance and stronger than our weakness. May it overwhelm us and enable us to find the life which Christ purchased for us, life abundant, life to the overflow! Then we will learn by experience that it is "not by might, not by power, but by Your Spirit" that we are able to know You and do Your will.
O God, may all Your people plunge into the river and experience Your power and the depth of Your immense love. LIFT US UP - LIFT UP YOUR PEOPLE! May today, as your people pray, be a day of spiritual heights; may we dwell in the secret place of the most High, in the high and holy place with the High and Lofty One.
Lift up Your people O God. Lift us up above the sin of this world that we might escape its grasp and enter into life abundant and free. Bring us to a place of great encouragement. Bring us to a place where Your face will be clearly seen, causing us to let go of all fleshly desires and discover that indeed YOU ARE ENOUGH FOR US, that in You we have everything we need...that we are complete and entire in Christ and lack nothing.
LIFT US UP MIGHTY GOD,
